Vision View's 'Seven-Year Black History Anniversary Party' will be taking place at the Jericho Fields at Vision View, rain or shine, fire-burning performances and all

As the fickle threat of rain almost put a damper on this monumental event, the public, festive event will continue as planned on location at Vision View

By ONME Newswire

As the Vision View team is used to rolling with the tides, no matter which direction, the festive event this Saturday, February 17, will continue as planned on location at the Jericho Fields, 4974 E. Clinton Way, Fresno, CA 93721, right next to the Vision View campus.

Throughout California this winter season, the state has experienced from atmospheric rains to light drizzles; there will be a 60 percent chance of rain on Saturday, with more consistent rain to happen not until later that evening. Luckily the star-studded community event is much earlier that afternoon from 12:00 PM-4:00 PM.

It's been seven years of dedication and determination for Lynisha Senegal, CEO of 12-year-old non-profit, Helping Others Pursue Excellence (H.O.P.E.) Senegal, who is the owner of the Vision View campus building, which is free and clear of a mortgage, is not going to let the weather stop her from this celebration where she is looking forward to acknowledging her family members, and the team of people and partners who helped her get to this point.

As local celebrity radio personality, Andre Covington will be the masters of ceremonies for the event, the public is encouraged to come out and celebrate with the community to see the fire burning performances; the butterfly release as a tribute to Senegal's late granddaughter, Kalani; enjoy the sounds of the Tucker Family Live Band A&B; watch the Native dancers and drumming, Black Diamonds Drill Team and poetry-slam performances and much more.

People can enjoy food vendors and the performances as elected officials will also be making appearances to commend Lynisha Senegal and the Vision View team for their great work over the last seven years: Congressman Jim Costa, Assemblyman Dr. Joaquin Arambula, City of Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer, and Fresno City Councilmember Tyler Maxwell are said to be in attendance for this grand affair.

T-Mobile will be in attendance at the event to do a special presentation for the large amount of grant funding they will be providing to KOFP Radio 103.3 FM "The Voice" to help kickoff the new media broadcasters' internship program for youth and young adults ages 12-20. The program will receive $260,000 in funding over the next two years to ensure the success of training youth and young adults in media broadcasting.
