FRESNO,CA - "Black Lives Matter Day" became officially declared through an annual proclamation presented at the Fresno City Council meeting Thursday morning, June 18, 2020. Immediately following the ceremony, there was a street-art event painting, "Black Lives Matter" on P Street in front of City Hall between Tulare and Fresno Streets.

Co-sponsored by Fresno mayor, Lee Brand, DJ Kay Rich and the Fresno State NAACP, the community project to paint “Black Lives Matter” on the street encouraged residents to come and express their own unique feelings on systemic racial injustice against African Americans, and to support the Black community and the Black Lives Matter movement in the area around the street painting from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
