City announces investment to turn blighted lot into new housing in partnership with Habitat for Huma

FRESNO, CA – The City of Fresno announced a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity Greater Fresno Area to construct four new homes on a formally blighted lot.

Funding of this $984,121 project was made possible with the help of a $580,263.contribution from the City’s HOME funds program, and $403,858 from Habitat’s Home Development Fund.

Additionally, Republic Services, a national solid waste company that serves commercial solid waste customers in a portion of the City of Fresno will donate $80,000 to help Habitat for Humanity serve 30 low-income families throughout the community with a host of home preservation maintenance needs over the next 12 months.

The HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) is the largest Federal block grant to state and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households.
