FRESNO, CA --With the elections less than 60 days away, local races are gearing up for as many media appearances as possible to inform the public of why they are the best candidate.

In the wake of the very competitive political season, Valley Black Talk Radio begins its election series "The Conversation" on Sundays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM to give viewers a deeper understanding of the candidates they are voting for in the 2016 elections.

"We want our community to get more than just sound bites, " said VBTalk show host and series creator Mel Sanders. " 'The Conversation' is meant to provoke deeper thought into knowing the candidate for longer than 60 seconds."

The Conversation will kick off with candidate Cherella Nicholson and incumbent Eric Payne, who currently holds the State Center Community College District Area 2 Board of Trustee seat.
