California State Assembly Seat, Dist. 31 candidate tip-toe over black issues

FRESNO,CA--California State Assembly District 31 seat recently abandoned last year by Henry T. Perea has three candidates scurrying for support from niche communities.

At last night's forum hosted by Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce (FMBCC) and Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA) held Fresno City College, candidates were stifled, stymied or humbled by defined, questions relative specifically to the black community..

Candidate Ted Miller seemed to be the most challenged as he often searched for politically correct answers that became political faux-pas that would surmount to political anguish and destruction in any other arena.

Clint Olivier was the polished politician with the right answers at the right time; however not quite right for some members of the crowd ...one person shouted out "lies, everything that comes out of your mouth."

Politically inexperienced Dr. Joaquin Arambula was not the new kid on the block; he was the product of "First 5 kid" known on the block who felt he could relate to members of the crowd he grew up around. At ease with most answers, the most criticism he got was from his opposition who inferred that the only politics Arambula would fight in Sacramento would be for his fellow doctors.
